All Good Stuff Happeing here

What started out as a creative fun little journey, has really taken off. Joining the Sewing guild was the best thing I have done so far. I have only been to two meetings – but a whole bunch of good stuff has come from it!!! Remember the table we signed up to decorate -- it is pretty much done. Carol is making the placemats, and silverware holder thingys. I gave her the fabric sister Debby picked out – she loved it . . I guess I am still not very good with color. I am still trying though :) .

I volunteered to set another table. I am not sure why – at the time it sounded like a good idea??? Any way I found some really cute fabric on line – that even has tea cups on it . . . Eventually, I will remember to take pics to post here – I am learning – it is all about the journey. As usual, it took me a while to decide on a pattern I like – and use the teacups. The teacups are rectangular and most quilt patterns are square . . . but I came up with a nine-patch except with rectangles. Papa Smurf helped me with an oval pattern. Did you know that an oval is not just a rectangle with curved edges? Mr. Engineer got out some very old technical drawing books to make me a 'proper template' for the ovalness of the placemats. I am pretty sure the folks at the luncheon will not care -- but they do look really nice.

I found a way cool pattern for napkins and a way to fold them so they can hold the silverware and the chocolate spoons. Because I did not have enough of the tea cup fabric the napkins will made out of some matching colors – I think it will be way cool – stand by for pics . . .see comment above about remembering to take pictures for posting.

Lotsa good stuff happening. . . more later – really not so long next time. . . really – I don’t want to be one of those folks who lament about not posting . . . . soon I promise . . .
